Dr. Marcin Bela (B.M. New England Conservatory, D.M.A. University of Michigan) is a Polish - American composer, pianist and educator. His music has been heard at major venues around the world, including Tanglewood Music Centre, Jordan Hall in Boston, Lutoslawski Hall in Warsaw and Detroit Symphony Hall. He has made mulitiple apperances on Polish Televison and Radio. Marcin currently resides in Nashville, TN and is an active participant in the city's vibant music scene, performing at prime venues, including Bluebird Cafe, Exit In and Cannery Ballroom.
As an Electronic Dance Music producer and keyboardist, Bela has performed at numerous Bass Music festivals and shared stages with top DJ’s in the field, including Ott, Gaudi, Kalya Scintilla, Desert Dwellers, Kaminanda and Govinda. He also scored a cirque nouveau production “Tarocco: A Soldier’s Tale”, which premiered in Asheville, NC and toured nationally through 2016. As a studio producer Marcin Bela has worked with numerous pop and hip-hop artists, including Chancellor Warhol, Fyutch and Mikky Ekko. His recordings have been featured in television shows on HBO, VH1 and MTV.
As a music educator, Dr. Bela has taught over a thousand pianists, composers, songwriters and record producers of all ages, skill levels and stylistic preferences. He served on the faculty of Middle Tennessee State University and Belmont University, and regularly partners with the Steinway Piano Gallery of Nashville on a variety of educational initiatives.
